As Cybersecurity expert, he was member of the Permanent Stakeholders' Group at the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) for many years and member of the Board Directors at Clusit (National Italian Association of Information Security Professionals).

His expertise areas are: cryptography, steganography and data protection techniques; information security in complex organizations; cybercrime and its contrast; digital surveys, computer forensics and antiforensics techniques; cyberwarfare and cyberterrorism; relationships between technology and law; socio-cultural aspects of risk in the use of new technologies.
