The document of the Italian Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2024-2026 has been published, drafted by a Committee of experts to support the Government in defining national legislation and strategies relating to this powerful technology. To support the Committee in drafting the document, a specific Technical Secretariat in AGID has been created, including some external members with proven experience in the field.
As explained among the principles of the strategy, "Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers a wide range of technologies that, already in a short and medium term horizon, can be used to stimulate and accelerate the development of our country. Artificial Intelligence is increasingly effective, for example, in enhancing the productivity of companies and the effectiveness of the Public Administration, optimizing processes, reducing errors and improving the quality of products and services. It is already enabling innovative approaches in the field of health and medical care, ensuring more widespread and careful prevention, earlier diagnosis and more effective treatments".
The strategies are focused on four sectors: Research, Public Administration, Business and Training, and include a monitoring activity.
